What the video shows
Saturday, just after two, it is raining outside and nothing is planned. In the video, Coco shows how the app finds ideas nearby at a moment like this: markets, concerts and day trip ideas, with places that have a roof when the weather is bad.
- “Saturday. 14:03. No plans.” Coco sits on the sofa while it rains outside.
- “Rain? Coco has a plan B.” On the home screen, the “Nearby this weekend” block shows markets and events, concerts and day trip ideas.
- In the filter, Coco chooses when (now, today, tonight, tomorrow, at the weekend or on a date) and what he would like to experience.
- Then he tries what the app suggests: a puzzle adventure, a live piano trio and a clothes swap.
- “Coco found something for you.” The Coco Scout card shows events that match his interests.
- Finally: “Fancy something new? I’ll show you what’s on today!”
Ideas for the weekend nearby
The “Nearby this weekend” block on the home screen brings together three groups: markets and events such as flea markets and fairs, concerts and day trip ideas. The day trip ideas follow the weather at the weekend: if it gets wet, the app shows places with a roof; if it is sunny, places outdoors.
Each of the three groups can be switched on or off separately under “Customize home screen”. If a day is already planned in the app, it suggests swapping in indoor places when it rains, even without a signal.
When and what: the filter
In the filter you first choose when: now, today, tonight, tomorrow, at the weekend or on a specific date. Then you choose what you would like to experience and narrow it down further, for example by distance, inside or outside, free or paid and step-free access.
At home too, the app suggests day-trip destinations within 50 or 100 kilometres and shows events nearby.
Coco Scout and what is free
Behind the “Coco found something for you” card is Coco Scout: you set your interests, Coco reports matching events and checks every few hours. What you save feeds into the next suggestions.
Finding events and day-trip destinations nearby is free. Premium extends the radius and how far ahead you can see events, among other things, adds the worldwide live search and unlocks all modes in Coco Scout.
