Customise the app: home screen and design

The app can do a lot, but you decide what you see of it. In the video, Coco shows how to hide tiles, put together your own home screen and change the design, icons and font size. Here is where to find it in the app and what it costs.

1. Coco marvels at how many features the app has, then reassures you: you decide what you see.
2. “Something you don’t need? Just hide it.” Hidden is not deleted, and search still finds everything.
3. You build your home screen yourself, for example with tips, a daily challenge and a pre-trip journal.
4. “And it looks good too”: ten designs, your own tab icons and your favourite photo as the background.
5. “Too small?” Four font sizes, all the way up to really big.
6. At the end: “Your trip, your design, your app!”

Under “Customise tiles” you choose what appears on the trip screen. The app puts it like this: hide what you do not need; the features stay, and you can still reach them through search and quick access.

Hidden tiles stay in the list and can be brought back at any time. Some tiles only appear for a matching kind of trip: when creating a trip you choose from 17 travel styles, and each trip shows matching tools.

Under “Customize home screen” you switch individual sections on or off, for example smart tips, the daily challenge, the pre-trip journal, streak and points or “Trip ready?”. The “Nearby this weekend” block with markets, concerts and day trip ideas can be controlled there as well.

For the home screen background you pick a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera; one tap takes you back to the default.

Under “Appearance” you choose one of ten designs or let the app follow your system automatically. For the tab bar there are four icon styles: Classic, Aurora Glow, Castles & palaces and Royal Gold.

The font comes in four sizes from Small through Normal and Large to Extra Large, with a preview. In the same place you can reduce animations. One more design, the founder colour scheme, is only for the first 100 Premium annual subscriptions at launch.
